Cape Town City Sea Board Attractions
The city sea board stretches all the way from Granger Bay to Bakoven. The areas that make uo the City Sea Barid include Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Maidens Cove and Camps Bay.
The entire coast line is filled with beautiful beaches, a promenade stretching from the oldest light house in Greenpoint and reaches to Camps Bay beach as well as parts of the 12 apostle Mountains. This forms part of the Atlantic Ocean with majestic beautiful sunset views. The property is really expensive in Camps Bay with lots of construction taking place on parts of it. Most of the property in Camps bay are owned by foreign investors.
Granger Bay - Named after Captain Robert Granger. The harbour was originally built in the 1960’s. The harbour was used originally as part of the Botha Naval academy. In later years it was taken over by the Cape Technicon which runs maritime training. The beach at Granger Bay is close to the V&A waterfront . The beach is not used by many people and in recent years it has become more popular for restaurants on the beach road.
Mouille Point - Mouille Point is the start of the promenade in Sea Point stretching all the way till Camps Bay. Mouille Point is a popular family destination, a popular landmark for locals at Mouille Point is the Greenpoint Light House. In pre historic years many sailors has not survived the rough oceans and the area was known as the shipwreck graveyard. The Most tragic wreck recorded at Mouille Point was the Atlas in 1860, It was known as the Great Gale of Table Bay where 29 who were on board had died. The Moon fish in the ocean at Mouille Point are at times mistaken for a Shark .
Three Anchor Bay - The Three Anchor Bay was originally called the Lions Cove. This is the point between Mouille Point and the Sea Point area. Three Anchor Bay is popular for Sea kayakers. The area offers guided tours for Sea Kayakers, and classes for those who want an introduction to Kayaking. Lessons and advice on the sport are offer by Kayaking stores in the area. The reason for the name Three Anchor Bay came about in 1795 where three anchors were set at the entrance to protect the land from the British invaders.
Sea Point - The area is known for clusters of small beaches that is linked to the promenade and stretches all the way till Bantry Bay. Sea Point is popular for all age groups and attracts families and groups. The promenade is popular for cyclist, jogging, walking and paragliding landing. Many big events are hosted at Sea Point and it is also used as the starting point for local gun run, Sanlam run and Jive walk. The Mountains visible from Sea Point are the Signal Hill Mountains.

Rocklands - Got its name from the original property that was built which stretched from the shore line till the main road. This is a lovely spot for children.
Graaf’s Pool - Graaf’s Pool was known as a nudist beach for men in the 1900’s. The pool was named after Jacobus Graaf who built the pool for his wife in the past who was in a wheel chair. The nudist beach for men attracted many gays to the beach and the local residence around the area complained.
Milton Beach -well known for its rocky pools separated from the beach. Miltons beach has shallow waters, the area has ample parking ablution facilities.
Brokenbath beach - Brokenbath beach got its name from the old pavilion which existed until 1895. The pavallion was washed away by rough seas and was rebuilt in the 1900’s.
Sunset Beach - The beach was previously a beach for non-whites when beaches were racially segregated. Close by is the old aquarium that was open to the public in the past.
Queens Beach - was named after Queens’s hotel. Sunbathing is popular at queens beach and being secluded it makes for a lovely hang out spot for couples.
Saunder Rock - This is the last of the Sea Point beaches, it was named after the Saunders family who owned a small cottage at the same location. This beach doesnt have many spots for sunbathing, however, the tidal pool makes it really popular place for swimmers.
