Shark cage diving is not only an adrenalin adventure but also an educational opportunity to learn about this awesome sea creature in its natural habitat.

We have perfected the game of up close and personal encounters of the most feared predator of the ocean, the Great White Shark.

Enjoy a full day experience of Gaansbaais famous Shark Cage diving. The drive to Gaansbaai is approximately 3 hours from Cape Town city. Our Shark tour is experienced at Shark Alley which is home to more than 60 000 seals.

We only use 5 star rated diving companies and skippers for our shark diving adventure.

Tour Tips
  • We recommend you carry a change of clothing as well as a jersey or jacket.
  • Bring along a towel, hat and some sun block.
  • The tour departs quite early and can be a little tiring, get enough rest the night before.
  • This is a very Picturesque tour, we recommend a go-pro or similar waterproof camera.
  • If you are prone to sea-sickness, we suggest you take anti nausea medication before the tour leaves
Information

We embark the early hours of the morning on an awe-inspiring journey to Gaansbaai. The drive is approximately 3 hours from Cape Town central heading along parts of the False Bay.

The mountain ranges are absolutely beautiful with rocky terrains and dazzling landscapes along the route.

A brief history of South Africa is given by our experience guides of the surrounding areas.

Places of interest along route:
  • Penguin viewing
  • Cheetah outreach programe
  • Harold Porter Botanical Garden
  • Grotto Beach viewing
  • Hermanus town visit

All the above attractions are at your own cost. Places of interest are time permitting and your guide would inform you on the day of the tour.

The tour via False Bay is approximately 3 hours to Gaansbaai without any stops along the way.

If you wish to include any of the addition points of interest, the tour time will need to be adjusted. Once we have reached Gaansbaai we use company Marine Dynamics.

A briefing of Shark cage diving is given followed by a light breakfast. The boat ride takes approximately 3-4 hours depending on how soon the Sharks are spotted.

Other sea animals including Whales and Dolphins may also be spotted. After the Shark tour, we make our way back to the office where a light meal is offered with an educational lecture.

For adventure lovers this is a great experience. Sharks can be spotted all year round

  • Departure at 7:30 and drop off between 16:30 and 17:30, we will do our best to adhere to the confirmed times provided at time of booking.

  • Cancellations from 0 to 24 hours prior to tour departure: 100% cancellation fee will be charged
  • Cancellations from 24 to 72 hours prior to tour departure: 50% cancellation fee will be charged, plus any additional charges levied by suppliers up to date of cancellation.
  • Cancellations 3 to 30 days prior to tour departure: 25% cancellation fee will be charged, plus any additional charges levied by suppliers up to date of cancellation.
  • Cancellations 30 days or more prior to tour departure: 10% cancellation fee will be charged plus charges for costs incurred.
  • The tour which has been selected could not be changed for any other tour or cancelled due to weather conditions.

Everything we wanted and more. Our guide knew the area so well that we managed to escape queues and make the most of our time. His knowledge of the history brought it all to life. Lovely guy.
