The tour starts at your hotel and travels via the M3 towards the Cape of Good Hope Table mountain national park. We pass Rhodes memorial, UCT and Constantia.
Rhodes Memorial is situated on Devils Peak Mountain, named in commemoration of Cecil John Rhodes, a South African Politian.
The half day tour drives along Ou Kaapse Weg, passing elephants eye and silvermines which overlooks the Constantia vineyards and one of Cape Town's cleanest beaches on the East Coast.
Our first stop is Cape Point, discovered by Vasco Da Gama in 1497 and reffered to as 'Cape of Storms' by Bartolomeu Dias in 1488. With many local and international visitors drawn to the area because of its rich maritime and geographic history, Cape Point is an icon for South Africans. We experience the scenic beauty of Cape Point by either taking the walk or furnicular to the lighthouse where we enjoy the amazing views at the mythical meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. From Cape Point we can access Dias Beach and a second light house via a rugged hike towards the Cape of Good Hope.
We proceed to explore the Cape of Good Hope, the southern most westerly tip in Africa. Cape of Good Hope is popular for its beautiful beaches, wild life and hiking trail. Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is home to the Cachma Baboon, Eland, Cape Mountain Zebra, over 250 species of bird and an exclusive floral kingdom. We stop at the SW tip for a photo-shoot of the popular landmark and rugged hike towards Cape Points light house before heading towards Simons Town.
The maginifect African Penguin is situated in Simons Town next to the South African Navy base. A specially constructed boardwalk is available for visitors to observe the African penguin in its natural habitate un-disturbed.
